Despite all his failures, the Bible describes David as a man after God\u2019s own heart. He had the
ability to offer up worship that was rooted in a knowledge of the Lord\u2019s unmerited love and favor.
This level of humility is pleasing to God and yet so many believers struggle with it. Even when
we testify about our blessings, pride often finds its way into our proclamations. Before long, we
are boasting about our rights as a \u2018King\u2019s kid\u2019 as if the King owes us. Our hearts do not perceive
the awesome wonder of God, as we name and claim our wish lists. But the Bible makes it clear
that we earn none of our blessings. They are all gifted to us by the Creator because of His
goodness\u2014not ours. David had an awareness of God\u2019s grace and mercy\u2014before the Cross. It
filled him with an awe and reverence that gave birth to true worship. We who stand on this side
of Calvary should offer God nothing less.<\/p>\n

Dear Father,<\/em>
You patiently remind us in the Word to give thanks in all things and to remember you for your<\/em>
many blessings. Please cleanse us of the arrogance that hinders our reverent awe of you and<\/em>
defiles our worship. Fill our hearts with a humble awareness of your goodness that gives pride<\/em>
no room to operate in our lives. You are worthy of all praise, glory, and honor. In Jesus\u2019 Name.<\/em>
Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s the truth that sets us free, from both the power and the wages of sin. Because the enemy is the author of lies, he distorts and perverts what God has said and done. False Gospels serve those who\u2019d rather embrace their sin, than repent of it. The theologies behind these fake gospels may use harmless sounding labels like inclusive <\/i>or progressive. <\/i>But anything that leads us to celebrate what God forbids, is not of God, and therefore has no power to redeem. So, we can choose to walk in truth by the Word\u2014or embrace our old nature by the counterfeit. One offers life\u2014the other offers death. But there is no middle ground.\n\nDear Lord, \n<\/i>Please keep us from deception. For in your perfect love, you are neither double-minded, nor swayed by popular opinion: You change not. No one can improve your word or your finished work. By your grace, we can take the narrow path, where our hunger for truth overrides the flesh. In Jesus\u2019 Name.
