The Great Intercessor will take hold of His vessel and give utterance on behalf of the most unlikely candidates.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Dear Lord, you remind us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Only by your Spirit I can offer a requiem for the pawn.<\/h2>\n<pre class=\"p1\">Requiem for the Pawn\nI decided to watch the Medgar Evers Story\nBracing myself, as the familiar scene drew\nnear\nWhere the assassin took aim and our\nhero fell\nAll set for my reasonable response:\nGrief, anger, and sorrow for the good man\nThat looked like me\n\nPrayerful compassion for his family left to mourn\nAnd for the just cause that had cost him his life\n\nSuddenly, as I stood to go into the kitchen\nA sharp pain pierced my heart\nIt took my breath away\nNot physical \u2013 something much deeper\nAn audible cry\nFollowed by a sadness that dropped me to my knees\n\n<em>What is this pain, Lord?<\/em>\n<em>Please, take it away from me.<\/em>\n\nHow shall I convey the response from heaven?\nMy old man railed against the thought\nSo far removed from what I wanted to hear\nA glimpse into the heart of God:\nI would partake of His grief\nFor the ones that perpetrate evil!\n\nHearing within me that Jesus had Medgar\nAnd would perfect those things concerning him\n\nThen, destined to grasp the plight of the murderer\nI was taken to a place by Executive OrderTranscending my flesh and will\nWith no regard for comfort\nThis vessel who thought herself a woman of prayer\nOpened her mouth and out came supplication\n\nPrayer for the living-dead\nIntercession for the enemy\u2019s pawn\n\nWhen the Spirit lifted I was left humbled as never before\nUsed and clean \u2013 a new respect for His words of life\nJesus called His betrayer \u201cfriend\u201d and defined Agape\nAs the willingness to lay down His life for him\nHow we dumb-down the way of love\nWhen carnal minds reject that death-to-self\n\nToo mired by pain and fear\nTo carry our cross and follow\n\nFlesh wars against the call of God\nWanting to lay down religion and take up revenge\nBut the Commander in Chief has offered weapons\nNot carnal but mighty\nAnd He has named the true opponent\nFor those who trust and believe:\n\nOur obedience, a sweet aroma\u2026\nPride burning on the altar of sacrice.<\/pre>\n<h2>\u201cBut I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,\u201d Matthew 5:44<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-size: large;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>My thoughts<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jesus showed me how serious He is about the charge to bless our enemies. I was conscripted by the Spirit, and love came forth through intercessory prayer. The experience reminded me that submission to<br \/>\nChrist means death to the flesh.
