\u201cThe fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.\u201d <\/b>Proverbs 9:10<\/b>
King Solomon\u2019s words bear witness to his epitaph as the wisest of all men. There\u2019s a direct link between a reverent fear of God, and our obedience to Him. In fact, if we don\u2019t revere the Lord, there\u2019s no desire to submit to the Holy Spirit, and forsake our will for His. It takes the Spirit at work in us to declare like Jesus, \u201cNot my will, but thine be done.\u201d Our willingness to discount both the Lordship of Christ \u2013 and the immutable infallibility of His Word stem from a human desire to gratify flesh, at all costs. Nice sounding catchphrases like Progressive<\/i>, Inclusive<\/i>, and Reformed<\/i> often seek to amend\/correct what God has said. But to deny the Word is to deny God, Himself \u2013 and only a foolish heart does that. When the created thing rebels against The Creator, we deny our very reason for being.

Dear Jesus, show us how we are denying you before men, placing ourselves in danger of being denied by you, before the Father. Help us to realize our plight as we ignore your Word, for the indulgence of sinful flesh. Please bring us to a place of reverence and contrite repentance. Bless your Holy Name, Amen.<\/i><\/p>\n
