Jesus chose us and He first loved us.

Dear Lord, what a blessed assurance to know that you first loved us. And this contrite seeking of your presence is simply my RSVP.

RSVP
Suffer me not to praise in vain
I long to drink and eat
Reveal to me your face
True worship brings forth light
Suffer me not to hear in vain
I long to drink and eat
Reveal to me your word
The precious seed of life
Suffer me not to preach in vain
I long to drink and eat
Reveal to me your sword
The two-edged blade of truth.

“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

My thoughts

Like the first disciples, we too are called by a loving God for His divine purpose. Jesus said that His bread was to do the will of the Father. He told His disciples that their work was to believe in the One whom the Father sent. The revelation of Christ as the source of eternal life comes by the Holy Spirit. And, our worshipful response gives birth to good and lasting fruit. The rest is vanity.

Love Offering

There are moments when Gomer’s heart is a little too close for comfort. I’m there with Peter as he heard the rooster crow. But then by grace, I arise. How sweet is the return to my First Love! Dear Lord, I thank you for your keeping power. You held on as I faltered....
