Love Offering

There are moments when Gomer’s heart is a little too close for comfort. I’m there with Peter as he heard the rooster crow. But then by grace, I arise. How sweet is the return to my First Love!

Dear Lord, I thank you for your keeping power. You held on as I faltered. In humble repentance with thanksgiving, I bow down and render up my love offering.

Love Offering
Kept through the fire, washed by the word
Brought forth to glorify your name
I bow my heart, I lift my hands
My tongue proclaims your holiness
Not yet attained but pressing on
Fed by the Bread of Life, come down

What can I say when all words fail?
You give me breath – I give you praise.

Sweet Trinity, enthroned on high
A blessed Deity of Grace
You’ve conquered death and spoiled the grave
All things are now beneath your feet
Almighty God, your awesomeness
Defies the magnitude of words

What can I say when all words fail?
You give me breath – I give you praise.

Though flawed and weak, I enter in
Your Spirit longs to dwell with me
Pure song of love, sweet mating call
Surpasses all the Earth’s delights
My eyes are fixed upon the Son
Whose gaze transforms His precious bride

What can I say when all words fail?
You give me breath – I give you praise.

Lord, as I go, before I do
My greatest work is to believe
Heart, soul, and mind, I offer up
Myself a living sacrifice
My cause begins and ends with you
All else shall fade and pass away.

What can I say when all words fail?
You give me breath – I give you praise.

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37

My Thoughts
Although we were created to worship our Creator, unworthy contenders turn our heads. But God is ever faithful to light the way back home. We then return to His loving embrace – our hearts filled with praise and thanksgiving!
