One Flesh

Marriage: The mystery regarding Christ and His church. Saints of God, we must look to Jesus! The preeminent Head was meek and lowly. We cannot cleave, lest we come unto Him by way of the cross. He is the Sovereign Executor of the Covenant.

Lord Jesus, we repent of our iniquity. We acknowledge you as the author and finisher of our faith, the only One able to sanctify and keep us as we pledge ourselves to become one flesh.

One Flesh
Two souls possessed by Jesus
Four ears that hear the call
Four eyes behold the Kingdom.
Two hearts surrender all.

“This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Christ and the church.”
Ephesians 5:32

My thoughts
Marriage, God’s divine idea, is meant to be a holy covenant. The one flesh union is physical– and yet, so much more. Those who enter in are called to partake of that profound mystery regarding Christ and His church. As one man and one woman surrender their hearts to God, He solidifies that couple’s bond with one another. There are manifold counterfeits and perversions of this union, but they neither reflect God’s image, nor bring Him glory.
