Dwelling

Sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing:

These five monitors of circumstance hinder our eternal perspective. They can dim our heavenly vision, numb our spiritual discernment, neutralize our saltiness, defile the sweet aroma of praise, and even drown out that still, small voice.

Father, forgive us I pray. Eternity is real. Our hope remains unseen. Now, despite this present affliction, we grab hold – and with Holy violence, enter into your Kingdom dwelling.

Dwelling
Your abounding presence around me
Safe blanket of protection

Your hovering presence above me
That orders my direction

Your sustaining presence beneath me
My tried and true foundation

Your abiding presence within me
The source of my elation!

“For in him we live and move and have our being…” Acts 17:28

My Thoughts
Where could we go to escape the omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotence of our God? Why would we even want to? Divine fellowship unto protection, guidance, comfort, and loving conviction are among the blessings of our inheritance as believers. Jesus is our mighty refuge – even in the midst of tribulation. Our natural eyes can’t behold Him, but faith bears witness that He is real. When we don’t feel Him, we can be assured that He is there. Let’s stop and give Him Praise right now – Hallelujah!
