Earthly Good

This world is not our home. But we have a great expectation. Eternity will extinguish time and only then will incorruption manifest. Until that day, we are called to run this race and not grow weary in well doing.

Abba Father, enable your children to see the plank and the speck. Help us respond to both in a way that is pleasing to you. Keep us heavenly minded and temper our expectations for earthly good.

Earthly Good
When the elders speak truth to those with ears
to hear:

Nation-time will put on Kingdom-time
Lawlessness won’t pass for acceptable doctrine
Incarceration will cease to be a career path
Canine titles will be thrown off
For “Ladies” and “Gentleman” will once more
apply
And every two-edged sword of destruction will
be laid to rest.

When the saints desire the sacred over the
secular:

Home ministry will abound over house parties
Hurting women won’t vent through same-sex recreation
Tattooed breasts won’t spill out over Sunday casseroles
The down-low will be six feet under
Real men will embrace their true pants size
And the belt of truth will gird their loins.

When we suffer the children to come unto Him:

Wisdom will guide the rod of correction
And “time-out” will be expired
Gyrating babies won’t perform at grown folks’ gatherings
Toddlers’ first songs will not include the lyrics of lust
Three generations won’t groove to an R-rated music video
And confusion will cease to define the family.

Some may read this and call me a hater:

But, I beg to differ
I’m just a hopeful dreamer
Who, prays for loved ones
And somehow tends to forget
That this ain’t heaven
And evil must increase Before He returns.

“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”Matthew 24: 12-14

As She Lived

Beloved Unbeliever II

A wise soul cried out to Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Unbelief is the struggle of the human soul to come to terms with God’s perfect love.”  In contrite repentance I surrender my doubt and fear, and receive by faith your loving call...

Beloved Unbeliever

Someone once said that if God could be psychoanalyzed, it would be concluded that His love for us is obsessive-compulsive. In Psalm 8:4 David ponders, “What is man that you are mindful of him…?” Dear Father, you love us because you are love! You can be one with us...
