Father, I thank you that my old man is crucified and my risen Savior lives. In Christ, I am a victorious dead man walking!
Dead Man, Walking!
There is a place, a wall of fear
That slows our race as we draw near
To what the Lord called us to do
But, draw your sword and press on through
Who can condemn what God has blessed?
None enter in without a test
The roaring lion has lost his bite
We must take Zion – it is our right
There is a glory
Beheld by those
Who have this story:
In Christ, I rose!
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4 (NKJV)
My Thoughts
Just as sure as we are called to good works there is an enemy whose desire is to see us fail. It seems as though the closer we come to the breakthrough, the more vigilant is his lying ministry of fear and doubt. This is warfare.
However, we’ve been given mighty weapons that are spiritual and not carnal. But, in order to wield these weapons we must reckon our old man dead, and walk in the newness of life, as born again believers.
Draw your sword and press – The word of God: this is how Jesus fought in the wilderness during His temptation.
None enter in without a test – No pain, no gain. The journey of transformation is not easy.
The roaring lion has lost his bite – It is finished. At Calvary Jesus defeated the works of the enemy. But that does not exempt us from the battle. This is where we learn to trust God and walk by faith.
Zion is our right – Our Savior’s sacrifice afforded us power to become the sons of the Most High God. We have claim to a divine birthright.
In Christ, I rose – Paul desired to suffer in Christ in order to know Him and the power of His resurrection. Our present suffering cannot compare to the glory that is laid up for us.
