A wise soul cried out to Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Unbelief is the struggle of the human soul to come to terms with God’s perfect love.”
In contrite repentance I surrender my doubt and fear, and receive by faith your loving call to intimacy. I thank you for the mercy shown to a beloved unbeliever.
Beloved Unbeliever– II
What lover is this who patiently waits To enter the life of His bride? It grieves Him to watch the deceiver’s seduction That draws her away from His side So bruised and mishandled, her wounded soul blindly Refuses the path that He’s made She needlessly struggles with burdens He’s carried And debts that He’s already paid How He longs to fill her so full of Himself: The Word that would quicken her womb But love won’t allow Him to force Himself on her Not even to spare her from doom The god of this world defiles her with pride And ministers doctrines of men So bound by tradition, she can’t see the truth- How will she endure to the end?
Beloved unbeliever, resist the deceiver You’re my passion, and I am your life Don’t labor in vain – keep the faith and remain In the One, who for you, paid the price!
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
~ Matthew 11:28
My thoughts
This poem expresses the steadfast love of the Savior, who is faithful to complete the work He began in us. With patience and compassion, He calls us unto Himself, away from the enemy’s deception, and toward the abundant life, with all of its blessings.
