Beauty for Ashes

Anointing costs, but it can’t be bought! For those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose, God’s sovereign hand prevails in all things. Tribulation positions us to seek Him in humility and partake of His comfort. By grace, we’re enabled to minister that same comfort to others (2 Corinthians 1:1-4).

Beauty for Ashes
My walls were down, I thought it safe –
A door you chose for me
But strange seed filled my healing cup
Sweet words sown wild and deep
A soul undressed to match my own
I drank and was laid bare
A womb enlarged, false hope conceived
An unrequited love
The crippled sower then moved on
I longed to kill the shame…
Now grateful for pure love unearned
For words of life not owed
They lift those humbled in reproach
To heights in you unknown
Daughters of Zion don’t abort
They cleave to hope unseen
Anointing is the tear-sown fruit
So worth travail and pain.

“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in their inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.” Isaiah 61:7

My Thoughts
We’re blessed to be a blessing, but sometimes that blessing is released through brokenness. God’s plan is meticulous, strategic, and filled with divine purpose. He loves us through hardship into victory, and nothing we go through is in vain. Glory to God!
