Communion

In John 14:9 Jesus said, “…Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father…” But, can we honestly say that about ourselves? The harvest is plentiful. A form of godliness won’t do. He’s made the way. Now who will take up their cross and follow?

Lord, I thank you for a torn veil and a sacred calling. I come to you as a living sacrifice. I forsake all for your holy communion.

Communion
Bring me in where nothing else matters
True praise and pure thanksgiving
A song without notes
A dance without steps
A silence full of your voice

Humble me, until all pride shatters
True peace and pure abiding
A call without shame
A grave without power
A silence full of your voice

Fill me up, prepare me for giving
Your word and pure religion
A love without walls
A faith without fear
A silence full of your voice

Pour me out, abundantly living
True joy, the hope of glory
A walk without sight
A life without end
A silence full of your voice

“After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” 1 Kings 19:12

My Thoughts
There is a spiritual coming away from the noise of this world and all its distractions. In that place of intimate communion God speaks. We’re transformed by His presence and prepared to do His will.

Beloved Unbeliever

Someone once said that if God could be psychoanalyzed, it would be concluded that His love for us is obsessive-compulsive. In Psalm 8:4 David ponders, “What is man that you are mindful of him…?” Dear Father, you love us because you are love! You can be one with us...
