Not of Works

There remains a Sabbath rest for those who hear the Word by faith. We come to understand that our hope is yet unseen, and our work is to believe.

Blessed be the Holy Lamb of God. We acknowledge your finished work. We worship in the Spirit and make our boast in the Cross. For our salvation is by grace alone, not of works.

Not of Works

How unmerited is thy favor
Oh, Holy One
To those in sin you sent a Savior
Your precious Son

No more defeated, lost, or cast down
With Him we’re seated
His grace abounds

Through times of testing, our darkest hour
We should be resting
In His great power

Not power, nor might, is our decision
Thus we lose sight
But, gain His vision.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

My Thoughts
In a self-exalting world culture, it’s difficult to acknowledge our dependence on anyone else, or comprehend the concept of grace. But the greatest thing we will ever do is to humbly accept God’s free gift of salvation—something we could never earn or deserve.

Beloved Unbeliever
