Blood Bath

Jan 1, 2018 | Blogs, Poetry Spotlight

2018When I consider the blood there is aHoly Ghost dance within that leavesmy feet in the dust! I was guilty assin and worthy of death. But, “God soloved…”

I thank you Abba Father, for Jesus who gave His side to the sword that I might be cleansed in His precious blood bath.

Blood Bath
Out of darkness into your perfect light
Oh, I thank you Jesus Christ for saving me

Out of blindness into your perfect sight
The sweet and narrow path through faith
Made clear to me

Out of weakness into your perfect strength
Now my soul bows down in thanks before the Lord

Out of failure into your victory
How my spirit leaps for joy before the Lord

Fear and shame washed away by your perfect love
By Your grace, my heart can claim your blessed peace

Sinking sand now replaced by the Solid Rock
Every step I take with you is tried and true.

“And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, becauseyou were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and languageand people and nation.” Revelation 5:9

My Thoughts
On the surface this is probably one of my most self-explanatory pieces. But, it is very special to me. I wrote itin Jamaica on my honeymoon. The magnitude of my mistake had hit me like a ton of bricks. As my husbandlay sleeping off his inebriation I was awakened by the words resounding in my head. Grabbing a piece of resort stationery, I eased into the bathroom and penned the poem Blood Bath.

When we feel rejected or unloved, Jesus lifts our head with the truth of who He is – and who we are in Him.There is nothing left to do but turn from our circumstance and give Him the praise!

As She Lived

I didn’t know Jesus when I had my mother with me. I failed so often in my expression of love. But, her prayers availed much. I’m saved today, and I will see her again. Dear Lord, thank you for showing me that my mother’s greatest battle was not against material lack...

Beloved Unbeliever II

A wise soul cried out to Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Unbelief is the struggle of the human soul to come to terms with God’s perfect love.”  In contrite repentance I surrender my doubt and fear, and receive by faith your loving call...

Beloved Unbeliever

Someone once said that if God could be psychoanalyzed, it would be concluded that His love for us is obsessive-compulsive. In Psalm 8:4 David ponders, “What is man that you are mindful of him…?” Dear Father, you love us because you are love! You can be one with us...
