Tender Mercies

We are born in need of a Savior. Jesus is the only one able to repair the breach made by the first Adam. We are made blameless and acceptable by the blood of God’s only begotten Son. There is no other way.

Father, I thank you that even though we are born into sin, you love us too much to leave us without hope. I thank you that I was predestined for redemption through Jesus Christ, my Lord. I praise the King of Glory, who has shown forth His tender mercies.

Tender Mercies
There have been times I’ve wondered why
We can’t recall our birth
The journey through eternity To pause upon this Earth When flesh was cut away from flesh That we might enter in A frantic cry for help – The cold, the glare, the noise, the sin I thank you Lord, we don’t recall The times we cried and knew The cost of being born of them Was separateness from you!

“Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the
time my mother
conceived me.”
~ Psalm 51:5

My thoughts
No one remembers the moment they were born, when they took that first breath in time, but we know that it happened. It’s interesting that the first sound we utter is often a cry, as if something traumatic has taken place. Could it be that that the Savior of our souls who dries our tears also tempered our remembrances—knowing just how much we could bear?

This world is not our home. But we have a great expectation. Eternity will extinguish time and only then will incorruption manifest. Until that day, we are called to run this race and not grow weary in well doing. Abba Father, enable your children to see the plank and...

In You

Pride cannot prevail against the message of the cross. In 1 Corinthians 1:17-31, Paul warns us to acknowledge the true source of power and consider what we were before God called us. I’m grateful, Jesus, for your disregard of human standards. In choosing me, you...
