When Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more, it was not a suggestion. Nor was it a heartless demand from an unjust overseer. Christ, who came to us in love was revealing the unequivocal truth of the Christian experience: Transformation. We cannot come into the light of His saving grace, unless we are willing to come out of the darkness that leads to death. Spiritual darkness and light are defined in Scripture, by the Creator and Savior—not us. And it is by the Holy Spirit—not human agency, that we’re empowered to obey.

Dear Lord, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and none can come to the Father except by you. You and your Word are the same. Let us not be deceived by carnal doctrines and worldly mindsets. Please lead us in your Word and by your Spirit, so that we will walk in the fullness of life— both now and forever. Amen.
