“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
Acts 17:11 NIV
There is a tendency in the body of Christ to go from one extreme to the other in our spiritual walk. We either follow blindly behind those who lead us, or we rebel against everything that we don’t want to hear. Neither approach is God-centered or Spirit-led. People of faith must know in what and in whom to place our faith. Only God and His word are infallible and altogether trust worthy. Our job is to believe that, humble ourselves, and draw near to Him through study, prayer, and worship. Christ is not bothered by our earnest, noble seeking—and those whom He’s called to lead us shouldn’t be either.
