“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.'” 1 Peter 1:15-16
Holiness is a command from the Lord; it’s not a suggestion that we can choose to ignore. Holiness is the divine nature of God that believers are to partake of. It means we’re set apart: God called us out of a spiritually dark world, and sealed us with His Holy Spirit. We belong to Him– and it ought to show. No one should doubt our relationship with God, or be led to stumble, because of how we behave, and/or present ourselves to them. Being holy is to follow God’s Word, as we’re led by the Holy Spirit– not the legalistic ways of man, or the popular opinions of those who don’t know Jesus. The believer’s resistance to holiness is our flesh saying no, to God’s Spirit, within! Nothing in this world should mean that much to us.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for giving your people everything we need to be holy, and walk through life in a way that is good for us, and pleasing to you. Holiness is a blessing that should never be ignored, scorned, or taken for granted. By your Spirit, we are privileged to proclaim your loving grace and tender mercies, as light in a dark world.

I would like to say in reading Deborah , Kelly books, the stories and the poems are very good read. An Elder in the church once ask me after I quoted a scripture to her, she said, and what does that look like? In other words she was saying to me it is easy to quote scripture, but are we living it and being a light to the world of it. Miss Kelly stories is like “what it looks like” in our every day lives. A part of being holy, as God tells us to be is loving Him with all our heart, mind and soul. Songs from the Cross short reads are like devotionals and reminder of our journey here on earth. And we all are on a journey. So thank you Miss Kelly for your stories and poems . Well done
