Poetry Spotlight
In 2012, I published a book of poetry entitled Songs from the Cross: Poetic Expressions from a Disciple of Christ (Revised Edition with Appendix: February 2016). Each poem has its own study guide with a narrative, prayer, closing Scripture, and question for personal reflection. I have heard that my book has been used as a devotional to segue into personal worship. I’m grateful for and encouraged by, all of the positive feedback – including the positive criticism. My heart’s desire is to glorify God and to edify the body. This genre can be abstract at times. Some may have read one of my poems and wondered, “What did she mean by that?” Well, both the teacher and the student in me are so glad you asked. On this page, I will have an opportunity to interact with you and shed some light on the subject. Each bi-monthly blog will focus on an excerpt taken from my book. I’m fully persuaded that a closer look will not only enhance our understanding, but it will also provoke our praise and thanksgiving to God. For these poems testify of His goodness.

Communion
In John 14:9 Jesus said, “…Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father…” But, can we honestly say that about ourselves? The harvest is plentiful. A form of godliness won’t do. He’s made the way. Now who will take up their cross and follow? Lord, I thank you for a torn...
